- To serve as a supportive space for students as they transition from home to campus life.
- To center Indigenous knowledge and practices in our activities and help preserve the culture and heritage of American Indian students.
- To serve as a liaison between Native communities and the University of California, Santa Cruz.
Our logo
The American Indian Resource Center’s logo was created in collaboration with Native graphic designer Ray Rivera. The circular design reflects the cyclical nature of life, a concept central to many Native cultures. The logo also incorporates the four traditional colors of the medicine wheel—red, white, yellow, and black—each holding cultural and spiritual significance.
